Wildflowers, Part 1

I found these wildflowers growing in my yard on Sunday, September 20, 2009.

Elephant's Foot  (Elephatopus tomentosus)

Pink Eupatorium (Eupatorium incarnatum)

SUNDAY MORNING MUSHROOMS

I walked around my yard last Sunday morning looking for mushrooms. After a week of rainy days, these beautiful plants sprung up through the leaves and mulch along the banks of Hunger and Hardship Creek.

While out looking for mushrooms and late blooming summer wild flowers, I spotted this pair of Eastern Box turtles.  They were as surprised to see me as much as I was surprised to see them.
